Paul Woodward is the Conservative candidate at the Ashford Town by-election on Wednesday 6 September.
This election is taking place because a councillor who was elected as a Green Party candidate in May quit just a few weeks later, meaning the Spelthorne taxpayer must now fund a by-election.
Ashford needs a councillor who is committed to our community and fighting for local residents at Spelthorne Borough Council – that person is Paul Woodward.
Paul has lived in Ashford Town for 34 years and is the ONLY candidate at this election to live in the ward.
A vote for Paul and the Conservatives will also help send a message to Labour’s Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to rethink his damaging ULEZ plans. Don't forget, Sadiq Khan’s Ultra Low Emission Zone is being extended to our border this month. It means that from 29 August any of our residents or businesses who cross over into London boroughs in an older or diesel car may be forced to pay the Mayor £12.50 per day.
This is an extremely ill-conceived and badly timed tax on poorer families during a time of high inflation, yet it enjoys the support of Labour, Greens and the Lib Dems at City Hall. Conservative councils are fighting against ULEZ and your support for Paul Woodward at this election can strengthen their opposition.
Paul has bags of experience as a past councillor. He has also worked in IT for top firms including British Airways and Lloyds Bank. He will be a tireless champion for Ashford, working closely with our pro-active serving Conservative councillor Olivia Rybinski.
Please use your vote on 6 September to elect Paul Woodward, a LOCAL champion for Ashford.
