Colin fell in love with Shepperton having cruised the Thames on many occasions with his wife Barbara and their family. Such was his love for the area that, having built up his own successful bakery, when he passed the business to his sons Colin settled in Shepperton nearly 14 years ago.
He is a strong believer in the importance of the local community, Colin immediately joined the local residents association where he lives, and is now a Director. Colin also joined the Parochial Church Council of St. Nicholas Church and took on responsibility for the major restoration project which has seen him and others fight long and hard for Heritage Lottery funding.
Always ready for a challenge and as a great lover of the River Thames and all things nautical, Colin crossed the English Channel in his own boat accompanying the Dunkirk Little Ships on their 75th Anniversary trip earlier this year.
Besides being active in the local community Colin also sings in the church choir, is a keen musician and enjoys researching family history.
Colin was re-elected as a Conservative Councillor for the Shepperton Town ward in the 2 May 2019 local election
