The first stage of consultation on a potential new Spelthorne Leisure Centre ended on 23 July

The first stage of consultation on a potential new Spelthorne Leisure Centre ended on 23 July with a very large volume of questionnaires returned, commenting on all aspects of the proposals, including the mix of facilities and location.

The responses will be analysed and a report on the findings will be produced ready for a further consultation in the autumn.

Cllr Ian Harvey, Leader of Spelthorne Borough Council, said: "We have been very encouraged by the level of response. It will take some time to analyse all the feedback but I can assure all interested parties that due consideration will be given to all responses, including those that are opposed to the project for various reasons, before deciding on our next steps. My aim has always been, and continues to be, to provide the best possible leisure facilities to improve the health and wellbeing of all of our residents, but it's not a 'done deal'".

In the meantime, to address some of the common questions and issues raised during the consultation, the Council has developed an extended set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
